I help people articulate their ideas, speak powerfully, and make moves with confidence—skills that benefit individuals, companies, and the work itself.

I've coached everyone from creative nomads to corporate teams, emerging leaders to seasoned professionals. Through it all, one truth remains: your career becomes more powerful the moment it becomes more you.

WHO IS PETRULA

AND WHAT’S SHE BEEN DOING OVER THE PAST 30 YEARS?

Petrula’s been Creative Director of Vrontikis Design Office (VDO). She is also a professor at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena California teaching graphic design, brand strategy, leadership, career development, and professional practice.

She encourages students to see themselves not only as designers but also as catalysts for change in the broader creative community.

VDO’s client list includes small businesses and non-profit organizations, as well as Fortune 500 companies.

Her work has won numerous awards for projects for entertainment, restaurants, scientific research, healthcare, and education.

  • Lemonade Restaurant

    Lemonade Restaurants

    As part of a full rebrand for Lemonade, a beloved fast-casual restaurant chain in Southern California, Petrula refreshed their identity—designing a system of symbols, palettes, menus, labels, signage, and digital touchpoints to reflect the brand’s fresh, modern vibe.

    Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau

    For DineLA Restaurant Week, she created a Los Angeles-wide promotional campaign across a wide range of media platforms including commercials and digital advertising. The concept was to highlight the fresh ingredients that are common to the variety of cuisines in the city.

    Over the course of many years, she helped evolve the Southern California Grantmakers brand—designing reports, publications, and leadership conference materials that supported the organization’s mission.

    Petrula has been interviewed by Dieline for her insights on interviewing, portfolio development, and how to give and receive critiques—essential skills for emerging designers.

    She authored inspiration=ideas: A Creativity Sourcebook, a 240-page visual anthology documenting the objects, language, and imagery that have sparked the work of 18 internationally recognized designers.

    Community Involvement

    Petrula received the Los Angeles AIGA Fellows Award for her enduring influence in raising the understanding of design across professional, cultural, and business communities. She has served on the national advisory board of AIGA and is frequently invited to judge local, national, and international design competitions.
